Donald A. Moyer, age 89, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Wednesday September 2, 2026 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born on October 8, 1936 in Bloomsburg, he was the son of the late Harry L. and Mae (Shaffer) Moyer. Don attended the Bloomsburg Area School District and spent his lifetime in Bloomsburg.
Don married his loving wife, Doris (DeWald) Moyer, on December 26, 1953.
He was the owner and operator at Don’s Auto Body Shop from 1968-1998 until his retirement. Earlier in his life, he was employed by Bloomsburg Motors, Lewis Chevrolet, and Hawkins Chevrolet in Danville.
Don was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the early Ford V-8 Club and Antique Automobiles of America.
Don enjoyed traveling, going to car shows, and spending time with his family. He also liked taking care of his lawn and flowers. He was an admirer of antique cars and an avid listener of classic country music.
His favorite vacation spots were Lake George, NY and Thousand Islands, NY.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Moyer, on August 17, 1972; and a brother, Harold Moyer, in 2007.
Surviving are his four children: Douglas R. Moyer, of Bloomsburg, Dr. Diane Wieland, of Lansdale, Donna, wife of Steve Artley, of Harrisburg, and Daryl Houk, of Bloomsburg; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 5, 2026 at 11 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with his pastor, Rev. Dr. Lisa Raylene Barnes, officiating. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. The family will greet friends from 10-11 a.m.
