Donald E. Deitrick, age 84, formerly of Orangeville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at the home of his daughter, Linda Deitrick in Bloomsburg, surrounded by his family.

Born at the Bloomsburg Hospital on August 25, 1938, he was a son of the late Clyde E., Sr., and Beatrice S. (Dent) Deitrick. He received a diploma from Bloomsburg High School.

Don proudly served his country as a member of the U. S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960, serving with the 17th Tactical Missile Squadron in Taiwan and the B-52 Bomber Squadron.

Early in his life he owned and operated Don’s Gulf Station on East Street in Bloomsburg and later worked for the former Magee Reiter Co., retiring after 25 years of employment.

Don was a life member of the Brookside Lodge at Cedar Run and a life member of the Orangeville Sportsmen’s Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, and spending time with family and friends. He was well known for his mechanical abilities and telling a good story. He loved spending time in Orangeville at “The Ranch.”

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde E. Deitrick, Jr. and Robert Deitrick and a granddaughter, Jessica Buckwalter.

Don is survived by three daughters: Lisa, wife of Paul Robbins, Rohrsburg, Lori, wife of Rick Scandle of Bloomsburg, Linda Deitrick and her companion Michael Musiano of Bloomsburg; four grandchildren: Jennifer Bennett, Lance Scandle, Shane Scandle and Evin Deitrick; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
