David F. “Chico” Bird, age 67, Orangeville, died unexpectedly at his home at 9:02 p.m Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
Born in Sunbury on February 6, 1951, he was the son of Mary N. (Sanders) Bird, Bloomsburg, and the late Edward F. Bird. David graduated from Shikellamy High School, Sunbury.
After graduating, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War.
A 30 year resident of Orangeville, “Chico” worked at the Selinsgrove State School for 35 years as a resident aide.
David was a member of the VFW in Northumberland. He loved animals and spending time with friends and family. He was a loving and devoted son and a great friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna J. (Roberts) Bird, on October, 29, 2017. They were married for 28 years.
Surviving in addition to his mother, is a lifelong friend, Elwood Klinger, Orangeville; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; his beloved dog, Midge Jet; and a son, Lucas Bird, Sunbury.
At his request, there will not be any services.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 30 2 ½ St. Benton, PA 17814.
