My mom. She was understated, quiet, surreptitiously funny, forceful when crossed, always dedicated to her family and always empathetic. The balance wheel and beating heart of our family. Somehow she managed to polish off the rougher edges of my sometimes righteous, bulldog headed father. And yet they absolutely never let us hear their arguments. And so we grew up always surrounded by their joined arms, secure within the sure knowledge of their commitment to each other and to us.
Now, adults, and some of us parents ourselves, we remain astounded by our luck in having these two for parents.
So, mom, although we lost you to Alzheimer's some years ago, you gifted us all with so many, many wonderful memories over the years that the arc our lives arch upward because of you.

Dennis,
Your mom was a special person. She was always so kind to me and I loved her. I wish I could be there with you all to give you a huge hug but Grandma duties hold me here. Please know you are in my thoughts.
Love to all,
Margaret Mary (Maggie)
