Christine Ann (Balonis) Fornof

Christine Ann (Balonis) Fornof, age 70, of Danville, passed away on Sunday September 28, 2025 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born on November 20, 1954 in Shamokin, she was a daughter of the late Charles R. and Angeline (Pohutski) Balonis. She was a 1974 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional High School in Coal Township.

Christine was last employed by Nazareth Memory Center in Danville as an Activities Director. She was previously employed by Hawkins Chevrolet in Danville as an Office Manager.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Danville.

Christine enjoyed golfing, cooking, and baking. She loved helping other people, especially helping people at The Meadows Independent Living Community in Danville.

Surviving is her husband, Jay T. Fornof, with whom she celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on January 14, 2025; daughter, Angeline G. Fornof, of Ashville, NC; two stepsons, Jon T. Fornof, of Ashville, NC and Troy D. Fornof, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three grandchildren, Ella Wilkinson, Augustus Wilkinson, and Oswald Wilkinson; two step-granddaughters, Emily Fornof and Lillian Fornof; and four siblings: Robert Balonis, wife of Reni, of Kulpmont, Leon Balonis, and his wife Nancy, of Coal Township, Juanita Heeter, and her husband Dwayne, of Bloomsburg, and Raymond Balonis, of Virginia Beach, VA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday October 25, 2025 at 11 a.m. in Holy Angels Catholic Church, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont, with Rev. Andrew Stahmer, officiating. The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Christine's name may be made to a local food bank of the donor's choice. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Rd., Danville.
