Cheryl Ann John

Cheryl Ann John, age 77, of Berwick, passed away on Wednesday December 3, 2025 at home after battling cancer.

Born on February 22, 1948 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Laura D. Salkowski and the stepdaughter of the late John J. Kochan. A 1965 graduate of Nanticoke High School, Cheryl attended Luzerne County Community College. She resided in Berwick for the past two weeks and had previously resided in Bethlehem.

Cheryl was employed by Bloomsburg University as a Project Manager before retiring in 2008. She was a cast member at Disney World in Orlando, Florida for 5 years.

An avid coin collector, Cheryl was a member of the American Numismatic Association. She was an advocate for the Caring Community for Aids. Cheryl participated in Relay For Life and was involved in Annie’s Place For Pets at Bloomsburg University.

She loved to golf and was a staunch Democrat. Her favorite Disney movie was Lady and the Tramp.

Surviving is her wife, Janice A. Boop, whom she married on December 1, 2025 after being life partners for 41 years; three children: Kelly Jo, wife of Ronald Stiner, of Bloomsburg, Samuel Hicks John III, of Nanticoke, and Jon Elvis John, of Springfield; five grandchildren: Lynica Rose John, Samuel Hicks John IV, Soren John, Laura Anne John, and Ronnie Carmen Stiner; brother, Jon Kochan, of Tunkhannock; sister, Judy Lewis, of Nanticoke; and goddaughter, Lori Lewis, of Bethlehem.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
