Charles O. "Chuck" Price

Charles O. “Chuck” Price, age 58, of McGuire Park Dr., Bloomsburg, passed away on Monday June 5, 2023 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville after a hard fought and courageous battle against cancer.

Born on January 17, 1965 in Bloomsburg, he was the son of the late Charles and Barbara (Baker) Price. A 1982 graduate of Bloomsburg High School, he was a lifelong resident of the Bloomsburg area.

Chuck was employed by Verizon as a lineman for over 30 years.

Chuck followed in his father’s footsteps as an athlete. An avid bowler, he was a member of a team that bowled at Peanut Bowl and he bowled a 300 game.  He played Little League as a youngster and in High School. Chuck coached Little League and was active in all aspects of the league, including the concession stand and caring for the equipment and playing field. He impacted his love of baseball on his beloved nephew, Braylon. His influence is immeasurable. He was a lifelong baseball enthusiast and loved the Cincinnati Reds whether they were winning or losing.

Chucks happy place was the ocean. In the past 12 years he found a love for the Outer Banks. He enjoyed going to the beach with his sister Pam, driving his Jeep Wrangler up and down the off-road beaches in Frisco, Buxton, and Ocracoke. He would spend all day beachcombing, becoming a passionate “sheller” always on the quest to find rare shells. His most recent quest was to find the elusive Eastern Murex. His passion lives on. His life passions were many.

Chuck had a sense of humor that was contagious as well as a mischievous side. Too many examples to list, but those who grew up with him in the neighborhood know.

Chuck is survived by his wife, the former Cynthia D. Shuman, with whom he celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on September 25, 2022; two sons: Jeremy Price, of Bloomsburg, and Jarrod Price, and his fiancé Lyssa Fausey, of Lightstreet; a nephew, Braylon Hutchinson, of Bloomsburg; a niece, Lexy Hutchinson, of Bloomsburg; four sisters: Pam, wife of Tom Treadway, Lori, wife of Robert Johnson, all of Bloomsburg, Michelle “Micki”, wife of Gene Tapper, of New Tripoli, and Melissa “Missi” Doran, of Bloomsburg; a brother, Michael Price, and his wife Heather, of Bloomsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

At Chuck’s request there will be no services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Chucks name may be made to: Scott Little League, c/o Dustin Flick at 1160 Main Street, Bloomsburg, PA
