Charles B. Muehlhof, Jr., age 74, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023 at the Glen Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Berwick. Born in Philadelphia on Dec. 12, 1948, he was a son of the late Charles B., Sr., and Mary (Robinson) Muehlhof.
Charlie served his country as a member of the U. S. Army, from Nov. 6, 1967 to July 7, 1970, including a tour of duty in Vietnam.
He was employed at the Berwick Area Industrial Complex for a number of years as a security guard.
He was a talented artist, voracious reader, and had a profound love of animals, especially his cat, “Purr”. Charlie was always taking in strays and giving his last dollar to animal welfare organizations.
Charlie is survived by his sister, Jeanne and her husband Gary Perch; a brother, Robert “Bob” Muehlhof and his wife Alice; a nephew Brian Perch and his wife Samantha; a niece, Cara (Perch) wife of Steve Imperato; a nephew, Robert “Bob” Perch and his wife Jenessa Dieter-Perch; a great niece, Amelia Perch and two step- nephews: Tom Lewis and his wife Kellie and John Lewis and his wife Maryann.
Private graveside services will be held for his family and close friends on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 1:30 p. m. in the Mifflinville Cemetery. The combined VFW and American Legion Honor Guard will provide military honors.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home &B Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be sent to an animal welfare or a veterans organization of the donor’s choice.
