Charles G. Dark

Charles G. Dark, age 77, of Riverside, died on Friday July 24, 2026 at the Emmanuel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Danville.

Born on September 20, 1949 in Phoenix, Arizona, he was the only child of the late Charles F. and Catherine (Dochat) Dark. He was a 1968 graduate of Central High School in Phoenix, Arizona. Charles attended Julliard School of Music in New York, where he majored in voice.

Upon leaving Julliard, he returned to Phoenix, Arizona. He then joined the U.S. Navy and did his tour on the USS Enterprise. After his tour ended, he returned to Springfield, Arizona, where he worked as a firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service.

Charles attended North Arizona University majoring in electricity. He worked as an Electrician for the Tucson Gas and Electric Plant. Charles returned to Danville in 1987. During that time, he worked as an electrician at Bloomsburg University, Geisinger Medical Center, and Gelmet Association in Northumberland.

He was a member of the Grove Presbyterian Church in Danville.

Charles enjoyed singing in the church choir, Danville Community Singers, and the Susquehanna Valley Chorale.

He also had many different hobbies he enjoyed.

Surviving is his wife, Cynthia Dietz Wintersteen, who he married on August 26, 1989; three stepchildren: Donald Dietz, of Fawn Grove, Debra Dietz Livezey, wife of Curt, of Plymouth Meeting, and Deanna Leigh Dietz, of Atlanta, Georgia; and his caregivers, Clair and Tammy Kashner, of Danville.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Rd., Danville.
