Cephas A Stair

Cephas A. Stair, age 81, of Market Street, Mifflinville, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday evening, November 27, 2020.

Born in Nanticoke on February 19, 1939, he was the son of the late Cephas and Dominica C. (Meskonis) Stair. He resided in Mifflinville since 1967.

Cephas attended the Millville Schools and went on to graduate from Bloomsburg High School in 1957.

He was a truck driver, last working for Consolidated Freightways, retiring in 2002. He previously was employed by Ferguson Trucking and Cooper Jarrett Trucking.

Cephas attended the Mifflinville United Methodist Church and was a member of Teamsters Union Local 229 of Scranton.

He loved attending carnivals, going to Knoebel’s Grove Park and traveling.

His favorite music was country music and 50’s music which he listened to on satellite radio.

Cephas served with the U. S. Army Reserve Unit 814 in Bloomsburg during the 1960’s.

Surviving are his wife, the former Janet L. Davis, with whom he observed their 53rd wedding anniversary on March 11, 2020, a son Shawn H. Stair, a sister Joan E. Cawley of Bloomsburg and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Dr. R. Kenneth Gunter pastor of Mifflinville United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Mifflinville Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday from 10-11 a. m.
