For four years, from 2001-2005, I was the recipient of a scholarship at Bucknell University that was funded by Carolyn Derr. While I only met Carolyn a handful of times during my four years at Bucknell, I always looked forward to and enjoyed our visits. Her kindness, generosity and spirit were always evident - she was one of a kind.
I appreciate all that Carolyn has done for me, both supporting me financially and as a cheerleader as I swam breaststroke for the Bison, but her lessons of generosity and perseverance stick with me the most. I am forever grateful for Carolyn and Im blessed that Bucknell brought us together.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.
