Carole L. Steinruck

Carole L. (Rutter) Steinruck, age 72, a resident of Elmcroft Assisted Living, Berwick,  and formerly of Franklin Place, Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at the Berwick Hospital Center, where she was a patient for four days.

Born in Danville on July 17, 1944, she was a daughter of the late William M. and Kathryn F "Kay" (Fedroff) Rutter. She was a 1962 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and the former Bloomsburg State College with degree in Elementary Education.

Carole taught in the St. Columba Parochial School and later was employed at the Bloomsburg Water Co. She volunteered at the Children's Museum and more recently at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital as a member of the Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church.

Her passion was her family and keeping in touch with friends, near and far.

Carole was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Steinruck on January 18, 1996.

Surviving are her son, David M. Steinruck, Scotrun; four grandchildren: Benjamin, Charlotte, Gabrielle "Ellie", Nathaniel, all of New Jersey;  two sisters: Kris, wife of Jim Oeste, Kennett Square and Kim, wife of Gary Kulp, Glenmoore; two aunts: Judith Bertke, Palm Harbor, Fla. and Audrey Coombs, Bloomsburg; and two uncles: Robert Fedroff, York and  Tom Fedroff, and his wife Dottie, Lawrenceburg, Ind.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence officiating. Viewing on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a. m.
