Calvin C. Wetzel. Sr., age 74, of 33 N. Ardmore Avenue, Danville, died peacefully at his home on Sunday afternoon, September 18, 2022, after an illness.

Born in Coal Township, on February 26, 1948, he was a son of the late Calvin G. and Dolores (Powell) Wetzel. He was a 1968 graduate of Coal Township High School and a resident of Danville since 1975.

Calvin last owned Wetzel’s Notary Service in downtown Danville and previously owned Wetzel Car Sales also in Danville

He proudly served his country as a member of the U. S. Marine Corps from August 25, 1967 to August 23, 1968, serving in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He received three purple hearts and the Vietnam Service Medal. He was a member of the Danville VFW and American Legion Post 40 also of Danville.

Calvin was a member of the West End Fire Co. and the Shamokin Fire Company. He also belonged to the Pipefitters Union, Local 520.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Linda D. Berry, on February 24, 2017 and a brother, Edward Wetzel.

Surviving is his companion, Donna Mazurkevich, a daughter, Marsha L., wife of Cameron M. Fraind of Danville, a son, Calvin E. Werzel, Jr. and his wife Nicole of Ashland; 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two sisters: Linda Sickora of Danville and Patricia, wife of James Holdren of Coal Township.

At Calvin’s request, there will be no funeral services or viewing.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
