Brian Scott Long, age 59, of East Hillcrest Drive, Bloomsburg, passed away on Wednesday October 8, 2025 after an illness.
Born on February 9, 1966 in Bloomsburg, he was the son of Emily M. (Bogart) Long, with whom he resided, and the late James R. Long, who died on June 25, 2014. Brian was a 1985 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and resided in the Bloomsburg area for most of his life.
Brian was last employed by BU Heating Plant as number one operator. He was previously employed by Greenleaf Greenhouses in Washingtonville. Earlier in his life he drove an oil truck for Matthew Oil Co. in Berwick.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, making jelly, scratch offs, and processing deer into different cuts.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an aunt, Lydia A. Long, on March 14, 2018.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Valerie, wife of Daniel Florez, of Big Rock, TN; two stepbrothers, Mark Babb, of Hawthorne, FL and David Babb, and his wife Jana, of Bloomsburg; uncle, Richard Long, of Berwick; aunt, Linda, wife of Stanley Kaskozski, of Beaver Twp.; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Max.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
