Betty C. Brewington

Betty C. (Sieg) Brewington, age 96, of Stuart, Florida and formerly of Benton, died Monday, November 2, 2020 at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart after an illness.

Born in Berwick on July 25, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence B. and Bertha M. (Herverly) Sieg. A 1942 graduate of Benton High School, she later graduated from a cosmetology school.

Betty operated a beauty shop in her home in Benton for many years before retiring and moving to Florida 23 years ago.

She was a member of the Benton Christian Church. She also belonged to the “Nut” Club in Benton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Brewington, on August 20, 1987; a son Donald P. “Moose” Ward on September 5, 2020 and a brother, Donald Sieg.

Betty is survived by two sons: David L. Ward, Stuart, Fla. and Richard L. Ward and his wife Karin, Dewey, Ariz.; four grandchildren: John Ward, Rickelle, wife of Rob Parks, Chelsea Ward and Natale Ward; six great-grandchildren: Randi Watson, Davis Watson,  Carli Watson, Zachary Ward, Quinn Ward and Luke Ward; one great-great-grandson, Kash Patterson; and a brother, Franklin Sieg, Ahdalusia, Ill.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Benton Cemetery.

It was Betty’s desire that any memorials be sent to Geisinger Hospice, 74 Schoolhouse Road, Suite 104, Danville, Pa 17821

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Benton.

Betty and the boys lived next door to us for years and she and mother were best friends in the "NUT CLUB". My love and condolences to her family. Susan (Appleman) Young
