B. Joann Kelly

B. Joann (Reibsome) Kelly, age 80, 804 Poplar Street, Bloomsburg, died at her home at 12 noon on Thursday, April 5, 2017, after being in failing health since June, 2016.

Born in Danville on April 11, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Walter N., Sr. and Mary (Law) Reibsome. She resided in the Bloomsburg area much of her lifetime and was a 1955 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.

Joann was employed  as a secretary at the former Bloomsburg State College from 1960 until retiring in 1993. During her years at the College she was the secretary for several of the Dean's.

She was a member of Shiloh Bible Church, Almedia  and a former member of the First Baptist Church in Danville. She was an active member of the Gideons  International and served as secretary of the local group for many years.

Joann volunteered at Agape and also as a member of the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary. She attended the Bloomsburg Senior Center and enjoyed playing games, especially Mahjong. She also enjoyed quilting.

She was preceded in death by two husbands: David R. Farrell on December 4, 1998 and Robert Kelly on June 29, 2009; a son, Willard L. "Bill" McAfee, Jr. on February 24, 1996; a grandson, Percy C. Phillips, III on January 5, 1993; two sisters: Stella Louise Craig on June 13, 2017 and Doris E. Miller on February 26, 2017 and a brother, Walter N. "Corky" Reibsome, Jr.,  on December 30, 2012.

Joann is survived by a daughter, Kim R. Rock, Danville; four step children: Robert W. Kelly, wife Sandy, Lebanon; Elizabeth, wife of John Frizzell, Tallahassee, Fla.;  Belinda Sevison, Mainville; Cheryl, wife of James McCann, Lynchburg, Va.; three granddaughters: Jennifer Phillips, Great Falls, Mt.; Ryan E. McAfee, Bloomsburg; Christy L. Koch, Hughesville; seven  step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren:  Reese A. Brockmann; Kallie J. Brockmann; Solomon G. McCrossin; Preston O. McCrossin; Urias J. Azure; Riddick Koch; Whitten Koch; Dylan Zimmerman; four step great-grandchildren; two sisters:  Peggy Shrawder, Bloomsburg and Janet, wife of William Pursel, Lewisburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018,  at 11 a. m. in the Shiloh Bible Church, 123 Church Street, Bloomsburg (Almedia) with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Douglas H. Lyon officiating. The family will greet friends at the Church from 10- 11 a. m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
