Anna Marie (Johnson) Kressler
Anna M. (Johnson) Kressler, age 84, 330 W. Third Street, Bloomsburg, died on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the Sunset Ridge Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Scott Township where she resided since January 7, 2022.
Born in Danville on August 12, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Harry C. and Helen (Fenstermacher) Johnson. She was a 1955 graduate of Danville High School and resided in Bloomsburg for many years.
Anna was employed by the former Hotel Magee as a housekeeper for many years, retiring in 2008. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching football games on television and country music.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Jeanette M. Carothers on March 15, 2012, her son, Gary H. Kressler on May 11, 2012; a grandson, Joshua Kressler on December 17, 2020 and by eight siblings: Shirley Koser, Betty Jane Higgins, Jean Reibsome, Naomi Brown, Margaret Abate, Harry C Johnson, II, Janet Crenshaw and Nancy Baylor.
Margaret is survived by a granddaughter, Heather Kressler, Berwick; seven great-grandchildren: Kayla, wife of Adam Skabinski, Kingston, Colton Carper, Zions Grove, Martin Slusser, Berwick, Jayden Kressler, Berwick, Joanna, wife of Reese Lightner, Duncannon, Ginger Morgan and Wade Morgan; 10 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Gordon E. Smith, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy, officiating. Viewing from 10 – 11 a. m.
