Anna Mae Anderson

Anna Mae (Reichert) Anderson, age 91, 1707 Montour Boulevard, Danville, and formerly of Bloomsburg, died at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville on Sunday, January 3, 2021 after an illness.

Born in Pottsville on March 29, 1929, she was a daughter and only child of the late James and Alma (Fenker) Reichert. Her foster parents were Jacob and Minnie Horne and she lived on a farm near Quakertown for 13 years. Her step father was the late William Ellis Beyer

Anna Mae moved to Bloomsburg in 1944. She lived on Montour Boulevard, Bloomsburg for 34 years before moving to Danville in May, 2008.

Early in her life she was employed by the former Bell Telephone Co. Later she was a waitress for many years and also worked at Milco Industries as a sewing machine operator for 27 years retiring in 1993. She also was a Sarah Coventry demonstrator for a number of years. For ten years she worked in the Arts & Crafts building at the Bloomsburg Fair.

Anna Mae was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg for over 60 years. She also belonged to Bloomsburg Chapter 279, Order of Eastern Star and the AARP. She attended the Senior Center at St. Luke Lutheran Church and along with her husband delivered meals on wheels.

She enjoyed reading, doing word puzzles, working in her flower beds, playing solitare and assembling jig saw puzzles.

Anna Mae is survived by her loving husband, Emil R. “Andy” Anderson with whom she observed their 59th wedding anniversary on October 14, 2020, twins, Roanna, wife of Leroy Pifer, Jr., Lewes, Del. And Robert F. Anderson, and his wife Shelia, North Bend, Wash., seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be held in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge, with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Joel L. Zeiders officiating.

A public memorial service will be held in Spring following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
