Alma J. Shuman, age 88, 401 Pine St., Catawissa, died at 4:30 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2010 at Balanced Care at Bloomsburg, where she had been a patient for over three years.
Born in Pittsburgh on December 9, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Emma (Schaier) Skulicz. She resided in Pittsburgh until 2004; moving to Kutztown for one year, Wayne for one year and Catawissa since 2006.
She was a graduate of Peabody High School, Pittsburgh.
Early in life, Alma worked in the accounting department of Westinghouse Corp., Pittsburgh.
She was a member of the Christ United Lutheran Church, Catawissa; the Order of the Eastern Star, Pittsburgh; and a former member of the Edgewood County Club, Pittsburgh.
Surviving are her husband, Russell L. Shuman, Jr., with whom she would have celebrated 67 years of marriage on November 25, 2010; three daughters: Allida, wife of George McKinley, Kutztown; Pamela, wife of Scott Lange, Chagrin Falls, Ohio; Gillian, wife of Jeffrey Waldron, Wayne; and four grandchildren. She was the last of her family.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Gretchen M. Johansen, officiating. Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Catawissa. Friends may call on Monday from 10-11 a.m.
