Alfred Leo Malkoski, Sr., age 82, 105 Reed Road, Danville, died at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville early Thursday, October 15, 2020.
Born on October 21, 1937 in Kulpmont, he was a son of the late Leo A. and Genevieve (Olshefski) Malkoski.
Alfred worked as a carpenter and in construction all his working life. His working career started at Cabinet Industries, Danville which helped sharpen his passion for working with wood. He worked for numerous construction companies throughout his working life. His most memorable job was with Feaster Construction Co. of Point Township.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Danville.
Alfred had his own woodworking shop at his home where he did many wood crafts. His hobbies were gardening, target shooting, hiking when he was younger, fishing and kayaking with his son
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Elizabeth A. Hirleman on October 15, 2000; three brothers: Joseph Malkoski, Edward Malkoski and Raymond Malkoski and by three sisters: Cecelia Lukonis, Jean Horn and Martha Miller.
Alfred is survived by four children: Susan Marie, wife of Terence Gill, Alfred L. Malkoski, Jr. and his partner Cindy, Michelle Marie, wife of Barry Woodruff, Gretchen Elaine Malkoski, all of Danville; seven grandchildren: Derek Robert Gill, Rachel Nicole Gill, Michael J. Woodruff, Matthew David Woodruff and his wife Elizabeth, Megan Marie, wife of Eugene Land, Shelly Lee Dubell, Amber Marie wife of Zachary Hoagland; 13 great grandchildren: Mia Land, Hunter Land, Gavin Land, Catherine Woodruff, Juliana Woodruff, Oliver Woodruff, Molly Woodruff, Natalie Dubell, Tyler Dubell, Landon Woodruff, Kenzimay Hoagland, Barritt Hoagland, Caroline Hoagland; a sister Rita, wife of Robert Katch, Norwood and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a. m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 66 Center Street, Danville, by his pastor, Rev. Timothy D. Marcoe. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church from 9:30 to 10 a. m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
