Charles W. Rine, age 87, 33 Beaver Run Road, Danville, died at 12:35 a. m. Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was a patient for 12 days. He had been in failing health for three months.
Born in Lewisburg on January 20, 1931, he was a son of the late John A. and Ruth E. (Mack) Rine. He resided in Liberty Township since 1940 and was a 1948 graduate of Danville High School.
Charles was a lifelong farmer.
He was a member of the Chillasquaque Presbyterian Church in Pottsgrove. He was a life member of the Danville Elks, the Susquehanna Valley Corral and the American Quarter Horse Association.
Charles enjoyed riding cutting horses and will be greatly missed by his Australian shepherd, Ben.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Lance Martin and his brother, Mack Rine.
Surviving is his wife, the former Jean I. Love, with whom he celebrated his 67th wedding anniversary on December 1, 2017; two sons: Keith C. Rine, and his wife Kimberly and Joel W. Rine, and his wife Katherine; a daughter, Judy L. Rine, all of Danville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of his Life will take place on Sunday, July 29, 2018 in the Rine Farm Garage starting at 2 p. m., until ?
Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Straub's Cemetery in Valley Township.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
