Anthony W. "Bill" Tucker, ge 71, of 220 Ferry St., Danville, died at 1:18 p. m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville where he was a patient for one week. His death followed a lengthy illness.
Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on April 17, 1947, he was a son of the late John W. and Lorene (Hockaday) Tucker. He resided in Danville since 2010 and had previously lived in Winston-Salem. He attended Gray High School in Clemmons, North Carolina.
Bill was last employed by Ilderton Dodge dealership in Kernersville, North Carolina as a service manager. He enjoyed woodworking and traveling. He was an avid reader and spend his spare time working on his cars. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Bill served with the U. S. Navy on the U.S.S. Valley Forge in the South Pacific during the Vietnam War.

Bill is survived by his wife, the former Susan E. (Slusser) James, whom he married on May 10, 2015; two daughters: Kathy Padilla, Fresno, Calif. and Katie, wife of Robert Kerr, Greensburg; a son, Trace Tucker, Mocksville, North Carolina; two step-daughters: Alisa, wife of Justin Sentz, Mt. Holly Springs and Amanda, wife of Matthew Bush, Glen Rock; and a step-son, Matthew James, Danville; seven grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in the future. There will be no viewing.
