A. Keith Phillips, age 81, 1300 Grandview Drive, Bloomsburg and formerly of Benton died at his home and was pronounced dead at 7:10 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018.
Born in Jackson Township on January 13, 1937, he was a son of the late John R. and Margaret A. (Fritz) Phillips. He resided in the Benton area most of his life until moving to the Lightstreet area several years ago. He was a 1955 graduate of Benton High School.
Keith owned Benton Rural Gas & Coal for many years before becoming a truck driver for PIE Trucking Co. He was last employed by Roadway Trucking. He served with the U. S. Army from 1955 to 1957.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Sara Follmer in 2002; by a daughter, Karen Beaver; his companion Virginia Yorks; four brothers: Clyde Eugene Phillips; Sheldon Phillips; Carl P. Phillips; Harold E. Phillips; and two sisters, Edith B. Yorks and Ella C. Benkoski.
Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews as well as his companion, Gladys Kile, of Benton.
Private burial will be at Numidia Valley Bible Fellowship Cemetery in Numidia with his wife and daughter.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home, Benton.
